Garlic Butter Shrimp Spaghetti Recipe
Half box of spaghetti, prepared by following the instructions on the box
1 pound medium shrimp, deveined
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into cubes
4 cloves garlic, minced
¼ cup of heavy cream p
¼ cup freshly grated Parmesan
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
In a large pot of boiling salted water, add a dash of extra virgin olive oil and cook pasta according to package instructions. When draining the cooked pasta save ¼ cup of water for those who don’t have or aren't using heavy cream.
While the pasta is cooking, melt 4 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
Next add the shrimp and cook over medium high heat, stirring occasionally, until pink and slightly opaque, about 2-3 minutes; sets aside.
Add heavy cream (or reserved pasta water) to the pan, scrapping the little cooked bits off the bottom, and let it cook down for about 2 minutes. Stir in the cooked Spaghetti, and Parmesan, making sure the sauce has evenly coated all of the spaghetti. Add the cooked shrimp and toss together.
Serve immediately, garnished with parsley if desired.
