My friend (Megan Lafferty ) invited me over for chili soup in Spring. Not a super bowl or cold winter when I know what are we going to have, but anyway we need those spice to heat up for us to survive to summer. Who would understand the concept of Chili soup in Spring, well let me tell you we live in Chicago. Friday April24 in Chicago was 40 degree outside so chili soup was a great excuse. The first time for Vegan Chili soup, it was not bad at all but it was fantastic. The way she made, is the right consistency of her soup even there re no meat in it. She said the secret is blend some soup to make it thicker that is the key. The bold flavor is the star for this dish with a lot of flavor from seasoning which is important for this soup. Chocolate truffles to share, my friend walked to me with a pink round Chocolate truffles box from London: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charbonnel_et_Walker. Her friend brought it back from London. Ohhh Chocolate is attacking in my mind after I had a first piece. Ummmm so smooth and milky and creamy, not to sweet which is a great way( so easy to finish it all in once .... Ha ) Thinking to make some food with chocolate component!!!!!
Of so many people Love chocolate, I am one of the big fan of chocolate. Think about chocolate you can have breakfast to dinner; mocha , Chocolate French Toast, chocolate roasted pork slider , Enchiladas with a hint of cocoa, Chocolate roasted pork and Silky chocolate fudge cupcake. Curry is always my favorite dish to make. This month since in Chicago is still cold , so I heat myself with a little spicy from the curry. Massaman Curry or Thai; แกง มัสมั่น. Massamun is a Southern Thai dish, influenced from Malay and Indian cuisine. Thai curry refer to the dish from Thai cuisine. Usually Thai curry made from curry paste, coconut milk, meat, seafood, vegetable, fruit and herbs. The star of this dish from peanut and onion, bring the nutty flavor and sour taste in to the dish. Which is the word "Massam " means sour in Malay. Massaman curry show in a famous poem : มัสมั่นแกงแก้วตา หอมยี่หร่ารสร้อนแรง - Massaman, a curry made by my love, savory from cumin and tasty. ชายใดได้กลืนแกง แรงอยากให้ใฝ่ฝันหา - Any man who has Massaman curry is fantasy of her. Thai curry have to cook in the certain time over the stove and take for a while until it cook through. The same process as stew. I have been thinking how can I be able to cook the curry and get my chore done, " Slow cooker !!!!! " yeahhhh...... trust me this is an easy way for you to cook the curry .... just put everything in the slow cooker right before you go to work , and Tadahhhh when you get home the smell of the curry will hit you first after you come back from work. I would call comfort food. Mussaman Curry recipe making for everyone that love Peanut butter !!! Original you dont have to put peanut butter in it but I am in USA. why not ... I love peanut butter, make me more happy to eat it with curry and rice :) . Massaman curry Ingredients Servings: 10 5 chicken legs 6 tbs Massaman curry paste 3 cans of coconut milk 1/4 cup water 2 tbs Karee curry paste 1/4 cup fish sauce 1/2 plus 4 tsp sugar 3 medium potato cubed 1 cup thin slice onion 2/4 cup peanut butter 1/2 cup roasted peanut Step Add coconut milk, water, Massaman curry paste, Karee curry paste, fish sauce, sugar and peanut butter. Stir all the ingredient together. Add chicken legs, potato, onion and peanut. Cook on Low, covered, for 10 hours. |
